Boys & Girls Club of Jackson’s Steak N’ Burger a Success with Olympian Rochelle Stevens


Jackson, TN — Boys & Girls Club of Jackson hosted Rochelle Stevens, a Two-Time Olympic Gold and Silver Medalist in Track and Field for their Annual Steak N’ Burger Dinner on Thursday, April 20th.

An annual event has kids and adults gathering around the table as a fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Club. The annual Steak and Burger Dinner is one of the Boys and Girls Club’s major fundraisers for the year. Thursday night, kids dined on steaks, while the adults had hamburgers.

The guest speaker at the event was Rochelle Stevens, a two-time Olympic champion in track and field. Stevens spoke on inspiring children to achieve their goals. “My message to them is that you can be successful and in the middle of success is two ‘c’s. So, my first ‘c’ is going to be to challenge them and the second ‘c’ is to make the correct choices so you can be a success in life,” said Stevens. As a spokesperson and motivational speaker Rochelle was voted by the State of Mississippi Top Five Best Motivational Speakers.

Stevens has motivated executives at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee, FBI Memphis Division, International Paper, Johnson Products, Maybelline, Sara Lee Corporation, Nike, Bank of America, Home Depot, Verizon Wireless, Cargill Corporation, Colleges and Universities.

Since 1990, Rochelle has given back to the community through the Rochelle Stevens Foundation.  Her foundation has helped over 10,000 athletes with new spikes, tote bags, equipment, transportation and scholarships with an opportunity to compete in front of college coaches and recruiters. Rochelle is a graduate of Morgan State University and Columbus University with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Telecommunications, Master’s Degree in Public Relations. She is the Founder & CEO of Rochelle Health & Wellness Spa in Collierville, TN
